About the CPD course
This training improves understanding of neurodiversity in prison education and provides useful strategies to support neurodivergent learners. Content includes: Information on neurodiversity in the prison population; different diagnoses and prevalence. Theories on the school to prison pathway and why neurodivergent individuals are more at risk of being convicted of a crime. A first hand case study delivered by a neurodivergent person who has succeeded through the prison education system. Immersive sessions on common challenges including Sensory Processing Sensitivity and Executive Processing Dysfunction. Useful strategies to support learning and progression to employment of neurodivergent offenders.
