This course will provide staff with basic lifesaving first aid in the workplace; it cover the - role of a first aider; Health and safety (first aid) regulations; first aid priorities; managing an emergency; establishing communication with casualty; resuscitation (adult and child CPR) unresponsive casualty and the importance of putting casualty in recovery position; managing incidents and accidents - burns and scalds; choking; bleeding heavily and managing someone suffering from shock; epileptic seizures; how to monitor a casualty; where to get help; electrical incidents; accident recording and reporting; Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) and contacting emergency services 999 call
