British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR)
About the CPD course
This one-day study day is aimed at all professionals involved in the delivery of exercise to cardiac patients who wish to expand their knowledge to include the heart failure patient. This course aims to increase awareness of the impact of physical activity and exercise in this patient group through developing an understanding of the relationship between risk assessment; baseline functional assessment and subsequent exercise prescription. Physiological mechanisms relating to heart failure are explored and principles in exercise prescription are applied to enable adaptations in respect to co-morbidity and cardio-assistive devices. Course delivery will be both lecture based and through interactive case study discussion. Knowledge gained will enable delegates to deliver safe; effective; evidence-based practice.
