This course introduces Aces (Adverse Childhood Experiences) outlines their origins and significance; moving on to address how aces experienced in childhood impact upon later outcomes The course emphasises the link between Aces and later perpetration and/or victimisation of domestic and sexual harm. The course discusses the link between childhood experiences and inequality as central to any understanding of the impact of adversity and looks at how utilising the trauma informed approach as a professional can support children and adults to begin to recover.
