About the CPD course

This interactive course aims to introduce staff to the topic of pressure area care. The course describes what pressure areas are; what a pressure sore is; the different pressure sites of the body and the factors that might put an individual at risk of skin breakdown and pressure sores. A range of interventions that can reduce the risk of skin breakdown and pressure sores are introduced; as well as the aids and equipment that can be used to relieve pressure. Ways of working are described and the importance of team working in relation to pressure area care.
