This course develops knowledge; understanding and awareness of domestic violence/abuse with a focus on the aftermath of an attempted domestic homicide. It provides a safe learning space to improve knowledge and understanding of key issues and confidence to respond and improve your work practice. It utilises the original drama; based on real events; LIFE SENTENCE; which takes participants through the story of Penny who tried to defend herself and her child from an attempted domestic violence murder; raising awareness of serious cases; the need for a workplace DV strategy; stalking; legal and medical issues and how work place practice can better support victims. This is accompanied by; interactive activities and group discussions
