Trauma Informed Care

This training aims to help delegates consider how to integrate trauma-informed care and support within standard working practices. It will start by increasing delegates understanding of trauma and the impact of trauma. It will promote the importance of achieving physical; psychological; and emotional safety in order for survivors of trauma to rebuild their sense of control and empowerment. The six principles of trauma-informed care will be explored; namely Safety; Trustworthiness; Choice; Collaboration; Empowerment and Cultural Consideration. Delegates will be invited to consider their current services and approaches against these principles and determine opportunities for further alignment.
