This course will focus on understanding the learning and development needs of two-year-olds and how this knowledge can be used to enhance the environment and inform planning. After recognising how the typical two-year-old develops learners will relate this to the prime areas of learning and characteristics of effective learning. The purpose of two-year-old progress check will be explored with an example being completed during the course. Learners will also carry out an observation and identify how this can be an effective tool to support planning and record keeping.
