This course provides an introduction to the Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND) Code of Practice 2015. It explores legislation leading to SEND policy reform; and discusses the responsibilities of early years providers in meeting the needs of children and their families; by exploring key aspects such as the Local Offer and the Graduated Approach.
The Early Years Alliance is the largest and most representative early years membership organisation in England. We support early years providers to deliver quality, affordable and sustainable care and learning to families, and work to ensure that all children, regardless of background, are given the best possible start in life. The Alliance’s vision is a society where every child enjoys the same opportunity to learn through play. We believe families should be at the centre of policy-making and parents empowered to become more involved with their child’s learning and development.
