About the CPD course
This is a full day course designed for people caring for someone with epilepsy who has been prescribed emergency Midazolam. This course covers all the necessary information to understand epilepsy; and then looks at the best practice techniques for delivering buccal and nasal Midazolam. This course will certify the individual as having: a good basic understanding of epilepsy; awareness of the more common types of epilepsy; an understanding of first aid guidelines for seizures including the appropriate use of emergency medication; the practical procedure of administering buccal/nasal Midazolam; an awareness of the legal and practical implications of administering emergency medication.
Epilepsy Scotland works with people affected by epilepsy to ensure their voice is heard. We represent the 55,000 people living with epilepsy in Scotland, their families and carers. We believe that people with epilepsy have a right to determine their own way of life; be free from discrimination and stigma; be valued and included in society and have access to high quality medical, social and information services.
