About the CPD course
In this unique joint presentation delivered by a forensic scientist and a veterinary surgeon; how animal evidence can be applied to human investigations; will be discussed. As over 44% of households own a pet; the evidential potential of the animal; and its surroundings; represents a significant but under-utilised source of material. Alongside acting as ‘silent witnesses’ animals may be used as weapons (both physically and emotionally) and they are gaining recognition as victims in their own right. With recent announcements to reclassify the offence to either way and increase sentences to 5 years in cases of animal cruelty; this timely Seminar will raise the awareness of the increase of these case types and the link between animal and human abuse.
