About the CPD course
This innovative course enables; empowers and equips teachers and primary school staff with the confidence; competence; knowledge and understanding to support pupils attainment of the curriculum requirements for Water Safety and Swimming. Comprised of a small number of pre-course activities and face to face training; it can be delivered as separate workshops or a one day intensive event. A half-day follow up is offered with continued access to specialist advice and hard copy and online resources. Schools or delegates also receive a set of unique teaching resources. The course meets Government /DfE; National Governing Body/Swim Group criteria and recommendations.
Going Horizontal offers teaching, training and development opportunities across the swimming sector; from swimming lessons to a range of qualification and professional development courses. Colin is a former schoolteacher and development manager; he is an experienced Swimming Teacher, NGB licensed Tutor and lectures each year on the PGCE Secondary course at Exeter University. He is currently developing training courses to support Primary schools in meeting the National Curriculum PE requirements for Swimming and Water Safety. He is based near Minehead in West Somerset, UK.
