About the CPD course
This interactive workshop is facilitated online by two specialist sexual violence prevention trainers and includes smaller discussion spaces; group activities and takeaway material and certificates for staff. It includes defining inappropriate behaviour (with a focus on sexual harassment and assault) in a nightlife context; myths and realities on consent; drugs; alcohol and the law; touching on spiking. Scenarios on supporting LGBTQ+ students with access and safety; an activity to define appropriate and inappropriate actions to take; a specialist trauma-informed framework for responding compassionately to disclosures; an overview of enacting best practice policies and procedures; and quizzes to test participant understanding.
Good Night Out creates safer music, culture and nightlife spaces, event organisers, student unions' and community groups to build workplace and organisational capacity to respond to and prevent all forms gender-based harms. We have trained more than 3000 participants through our specialist interactive training which is designed to share the realities of how sexual harassment, abuse and violence are perpetrated, and how they can best be tackled and prevents. Our training outcomes measure an increase in how knowledgeable, upskilled and confident participants feel afterwards and can be delivered online or in person.
