This Preventing Radicalisation and Extremism training course is designed to provide frontline workers with knowledge of the Prevent strategy; and explain what their statutory responsibilities are with regards to it. The course covers key terminology; circumstances that may make an individual vulnerable to being drawn into terrorism; how radicalisation may occur; and potential indicators of radicalisation or someone becoming involved with extremist ideologies. It provides learners with the knowledge of how they should respond to concerns; and an understanding of the Prevent referral process and Channel programme. Scenarios are used throughout the course as opportunities to apply key learning; and there is an opportunity to choose sector-specific content.
