The Kids Matter Facilitator Training prepares front line church and Christian community workers to facilitate the Kids Matter parenting programmes for families facing disadvantages. The objectives of the training are to develop facilitation skills focusing on how to ask effective questions; active listening and how to deal with group dynamics. These skills are developed through role play with live coaching; and understand the impact of Adverse Childhood Experiences on both the parents and children that the Kids Matter programmes seek to support.
Kids Matter has a vision to see every child in need raised in a strong family and a mission to reduce the impact of poverty on children through community-based programmes. We do this by engaging local churches and training volunteers to equip mums, dads and carers facing disadvantages with the confidence, competence, and community they need to enable their children to thrive. Our parenting programmes are accessible, relational, evidence-informed, and suitable for families of all faiths and none.
