This on-demand course is primarily aimed at movement and dance teachers who wish to learn the basics of Language of Dance® (LOD) to then deliver LOD sessions in their own setting. It can also be useful for practitioners who are interested in new pedagogical approaches to movement exploration; creativity and choreography; and for those looking to investigate and deepen their own movement understanding. The course focuses on the exploration and understanding of the 10 fundamental LOD movement concepts and symbols. After successful completion; candidates will have further training available to them depending on their needs and interests.
The Language of Dance® Centre UK, based in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, was established in 1967 by Dr Ann Hutchinson Guest. The Language of Dance® Trust supports the work of the Language of Dance® Centre, and conversely the Language of Dance® Centre operates under the auspices of the Language of Dance® Trust.
We deliver dance tuition in primary, secondary and special educational needs schools, as well as providing CPD, training courses and resources for teachers and dance practitioners. Our mission is to promote and provide universal access to dance literacy as a means to explore and create dance.
