Caring for Elderly People

This online course will give you an understanding of developmental psychology; gerontology; ageing; and how it happens. You will learn the common stereotypes of older people; how stereotyping affects older people; life stages and theories; and what to expect in older age. In addition; this online course will teach you mental health issues in old age; such as memory-related issues; learning disabilities; Alzheimer’s diseases; and dementia. You will also learn the quality of life; loneliness factors in the elderly population; and steps to cope with grief and bereavement. By the end of the course; you will have some knowledge in mental health and old age; steps to improve health and wellbeing; the quality of life; mild and severe depression; and fear of dying.
