About the CPD course
LGBTQ+ people experience a number of increased health risks; such as poor mental health and poorer access to health services; compared to the general population. Despite this being well documented; LGBTQ+ people still face a number of systemic barriers when accessing services. This module will outline LGBTQ+ health inequalities and explain concepts of equity vs. equality; structural inequality and accessibility. Government research and case studies are used throughout this module to illustrate the challenges that LGBTQ+ people experience and possible sources of support and signposting for LGBTQ+ people.
