About the CPD course
Stroke is the 4th most common reason for death in the UK and whilst anyone can have a stroke; the risk increases over the age of 55. It's prevalence in health and social care settings is far greater than in the general population. Therefore; health and social care workers need to know how to identify the signs of stroke as they may have only a matter of seconds to act. The health or social care worker needs to know how to respond quickly and competently. A full understanding of stroke; including causes; identifying the signs and symptoms and how to promote recovery is integral to a health and social care worker's fulfilment of their duty of care.
