About the CPD course
The Diploma in Eating Disorders; Disordered Eating & Neurodiversity offered by NEDDE Training is a course designed to provide an in-depth understanding of the intersection between neurodiversity and eating disorders. Open to those with specific prior qualifications; the course covers a wide range of topics such as Neuro affirmative considerations; working with various disorders like AFRID and PDA; LGBTQ+ considerations and medication considerations. The curriculum is aimed at equipping participants with practical strategies and evidence-based approaches for supporting neurodivergent individuals facing eating disorders.
While research shows 1 in 5 are estimated to be Neurodivergent, this number significantly rises in those with Eating Diversity, and we recognise the traditional approach to supporting Eating Diversity does not embrace the individuality of the Neurodivergent client, nor their need to be supported in a person centred way.
Courses are led by Bernie Wright and Lisa Smith and call upon the knowledge of key experts in the field of both Neurodiversity and Eating Disorders, with the aim of helping attendees to deepen their understanding of working with these two, often coexisting issues.
