About the CPD course
Disorders of Gut-Brain Interaction (DGBIs) such as regurgitation; colic; and constipation are common in the first months of life1. Astrointestinal symptoms of DGBIs are frequent causes of parental anxiety; as well as repeated healthcare professional consultations2. In part 1 of this topic focus; we will explore the diagnostic criteria for DGBIs; and review the change in terminology from functional gastrointestinal disorders (FGIDs). The expert speaker will look at the development of the GI tract during the early postnatal period; including those critical windows in the development of the microbiota–gut–brain axis; as well as the short and longer-term impact of these conditions on infants. There will be an opportunity to put your questions to Lucy during an interactive Q&A session at the end of the webinar.
