About the CPD course
Blended online course with tutor support.
For most students, going to college can be a difficult experience, as they adjust to independence and take more responsibility for their academic and social outcomes. Despite further education being the most common post-school destination, deaf students are twice as likely as their peers to drop out or incomplete courses. Inclusive practice and provision help deaf students feel like they are part of the community and keep their learning on track. This 20-hour blended course provides access to online evidence-based content and at least two live tutoring sessions. An authentic ‘real-world’ task simulates best practices and provides opportunities for learning to be personalised and embedded in everyday practice. Participants taking this course are equipped with the knowledge, understanding and skills to plan and deliver targeted interventions that lead to better learning outcomes for young deaf people.
