About the CPD course
Online Hostile Environment Awareness Training (HEAT) is an intensive course designed for those whose work takes them to challenging; remote or hostile locations. Participants learn to recognise; avoid and respond to risks. The course examines dangers of high-risk environments while building capacity and confidence to respond well to those risks. The course covers 23 modules and includes: remote emergency care; sexual violence; carjacking; arrest; detention and kidnap as well as self care; psychological first aid; and interpersonal skills.
Safer Edge is comprised of professional practitioners with field experience who understand both the theory and practice of operating in a complex global environment. We have worked in emergency responses, war zones, civil conflicts and civil disturbances as well as in developing countries.
