About the CPD course
The aim of this course is to raise awareness and understanding of neurodiversity and child exploitation; with particular focus on how to support exploited young people who are on the autistic spectrum. Trainers; Danielle Davey and Dr Sarah Lloyd consider the language around neurodiversity and explore the ways in which autistic young people may present to professionals. The course explores the importance of utilising trauma informed practices when working with neurodivergent young people; enabling learners to understand how difficult it can be for young people to recognise that they are being exploited; and to disclose abuse.
