About the CPD course
This Domestic Abuse Training; tailored for professionals in Homelessness Settings and Rough Sleeping Teams; provides comprehensive knowledge and practical skills necessary to address domestic abuse effectively. The course covers the dynamics of domestic abuse and coercive control; focusing on recognising non-stereotypical victims and understanding the relevance of this issue within the housing and homelessness sector. Participants will learn how to initiate safe conversations about abuse; identify and manage high-risk situations; and provide appropriate support regardless of a survivor's readiness to take action. This training is essential for professionals seeking to enhance their expertise and impact in supporting vulnerable individuals.
The Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) was established in 2014 as a partnership between Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse (STADA), Gentoo and Peabody housing associations. We are the leading specialist domestic abuse organisation offering training suitable for local authorities and social housing providers to improve their response to domestic abuse. We use our practice-based experience to work alongside partners across the housing and domestic abuse sector to influence policy and national decision making through our DAHA-led National Domestic Abuse & Housing Policy and Practice Group.
