Skills Training in Suicide Postvention and Preparedness Facilitator Module

This course focuses on the skills needed to help those who have been bereaved of affected by suicide. This is an additional follow-on module to the Suicide Prevention and Suicide Prevention and Self-harm Mitigation Courses. The module has three aims: The first aim is to develop the essential skills in supporting those bereaved or affected by suicide and in recognising vulnerability to create a support & safety plan. The second aim is to begin the process of preparedness planning in order to create a postvention response plan. The third aim is to prepare Facilitators to deliver the 3 levels of the Postvention and Preparedness module. Training is interactive and uses evidenced based methods to enhance skills development. The course is specifically for Licencee staff identified to take on this role.
