The Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) course; designed for speech-language pathologists; focuses on understanding CAS and distinguishing it from other speech sound disorders. It covers motor planning; assessment techniques; and early identification in toddlers and preschool-aged children. Participants will learn to use diagnostic tools; differentiate CAS from similar disorders; and develop individualized treatment plans. The course also includes evidence-based interventions and strategies for minimally verbal children; promoting multi-modal communication and early speech development; while preparing therapists to address common questions from caregivers about prognosis and treatment outcomes.
