About the CPD course

This course has been designed to give care staff an understanding of Asperger syndrome and its impact on service users. The course will allow practitioners to understand the triad of impairments and what this means in practical terms for individuals. It will also explore the difficulties of living with Asperger’s as well as some of the differences that are experienced by those on the autistic spectrum. Learners will be introduced to the SPELL methodology and explore its use in a care environment. They will also explore other support methodologies that are common in the UK.
