About the CPD course
Therapeutic play uses a childs natural desire to play in order to work through emotional; social or behavioural difficulties. It is led by trained and certified practitioners in a variety of settings (e.g. schools; hospitals; therapy). However play is something that children do every day and there are many ways in which a foster carer can use play in a purposeful way to help support the children in their care. While this isnt a replacement for therapy it can be a great way to bond with your foster child; have fun and set boundaries in an enjoyable way.
