Organisations can leverage innovation strategically to gain an advantage over their competitors. Learning to relate organisational resources to market value; students will be encouraged to favour a resourced-based view of the firm; instead of primarily adopting a microeconomic perspective. In order to foster a resource-based perspective; students will become familiar with the study of competition before learning about the fundamental definitions of innovation management - ranging from its applicability to evaluation through to design.
