About the CPD course

This course focuses on essential infection prevention and control standards in care homes. It underscores the criticality of hand hygiene; appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); handling blood and body fluid spills; occupational exposure management; maintaining clean surroundings; and proper care equipment handling. Participants learn the impact of their actions on infection control and personal fitness in mitigating infection risks to themselves and others. It covers individual contributions to infection prevention; standard precautions; role of personal fitness in infection risk; understanding roles in infection control; relevant legislation; procedures; risk assessment; and the significance of PPE and personal hygiene.
