About the CPD course
This 4-day specialist training is for frontline domestic abuse workers who wish to improve their practice when supporting Romani (Gypsy); Roma and Irish Traveller survivors. Participants will learn about the additional barriers these communities face; as well as practical and creative strategies in how to overcome them and follow best practice. The sessions are co-delivered by members of the Romani (Gypsy0; Roma and Irish Traveller communities; as well as by survivors of domestic abuse.
Established in 1999, the Traveller Movement has a track record in innovative and ground-breaking work using a collective community assets-based approach for addressing ethnic Romani (Gypsy), Roma and Irish Traveller inequality, exclusion and discrimination and promoting their rights.
