Vegan-Inclusive Teacher Training

Training Course The Vegan Society

About the CPD course

This course is designed by a former teacher and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) especially for educators who have vegan learners in their care. It is widely unknown that veganism is a philosophical belief that attracts protection under human rights laws; therefore most educators do not prioritise differentiation for vegan learners. This informative course provides hints; tips and techniques to avoid any misunderstanding and break down any misconceptions. We discuss why a family or learner would choose to become vegan; how this information can be integrated into everyday inclusive practice and the wider benefits of delivering a curriculum that is vegan-inclusive.

The Vegan Society

The Vegan Society

Founded in 1944, The Vegan Society is a registered educational charity that provides information and guidance on various aspects of veganism. The Vegan Society’s formal definition is: "Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment." In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.
