About the CPD course
The course introduces learners to current research into climate impacts on food systems in sub-Saharan Africa. They will understand how climate change is being felt and understand some initiatives that have been implemented to mitigate its impacts. Learners explore the concept of agriculture and food systems and examine two key methodologies used to analyse climate change impacts on these systems: scenarios and integrated modelling. Learners also assess approaches to increasing climate resilience using case studies from Malawi; Tanzania and Zambia. Learners engage directly with the methods introduced by applying a scenario-based modelling approach to a country of their choosing.
