About the event
We are going to reach consensus regarding treatment with unilateral Cochlear Implant(CI) in adults with severe; profound; or moderate-sloping to profound bilateral sensorineural-hearing-loss(SNHL). Key areas on the use of unilateral CI in adults with SNHL will be addressed in a directed discussion with representatives of the different countries in Europe; Middle East and Africa: level of awareness of CI; best practice clinical pathway from diagnosis to surgery and guidelines for surgery; clinical effectiveness of CI; factors associated with post implantation outcomes; association between hearing loss and depression; cognition; and dementia; and cost implications of cochlear implantation.
