Richard Kay acts as a consultant for numerous pharmaceutical companies through his company RK Statistics, in relation to study design and the analysis of data, statistical methodology in general and at a strategic level in support of their regulatory submissions. In addition, Richard presents training courses to statisticians on a range of topics, and to non-statisticians predominantly around the general theme of ‘Statistical Thinking for Non-Statisticians in Drug Regulation’.

Richard is Honorary Visiting Professor at the School of Pharmacy, University of Cardiff and has served as an External Examiner for the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine course in Clinical Trials and currently serves as External Examiner for the MSc programmes in Pharmaceutical Medicine (Medicines Development Science) at Kings College, London. In 2019 Richard was awarded the President’s Medal by the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine for his outstanding contribution to pharmaceutical medicine.
