About the CPD course
There are approximately 1.1 million adults with a learning disability in the UK; and they are 3 times more likely to experience domestic abuse than the general population. This 2 ½ hour interactive workshop explores what it means to have a learning disability; why people with learning disabilities may be especially vulnerable to domestic abuse and how we can ensure good support for people with learning disabilities we are working with.
Behind Closed Doors has been providing safe and confidential support to people of all genders who have experienced domestic abuse for over 25 years. Our skilled and experienced team deliver tailored programmes of support that reach hundreds of people each year.
We provide a range of training from regular events to bespoke training for organisations and consultancy support to develop workplace policies.
Training is delivered online by a qualified trainer with direct experience supporting individuals affected by domestic abuse.
