About the CPD course
This course is targeted at educational settings to enable staff gain awareness and understanding of health issues; characteristics and learning profile associated with Down’s Syndrome and how this can impact their learning and social interactions. The course will also provide some strategies to support children with Down’s syndrome in these education settings.
Down’s Syndrome Scotland, a member-led charity established in 1982 are the only charity in Scotland dedicated to providing ‘all through life’ support and a range of services to people with Down’s syndrome and their families and carers nationally across Scotland. We provide training for educational settings to positively include and effectively support the education of children and young people with Down’s syndrome. We provide teaching sessions to midwifery and health professionals with supporting new and expectant parents through prenatal screening and testing, receiving the news and the early years of having a child with Down’s syndrome.
