About the CPD course

Volunteers are not protected by employment law and therefore managing volunteers is not the same as managing paid staff. This session will look at the protection that volunteers do have and the policies needed to ensure good practice for both the volunteer and the organisation. As a participant you will work with your peers to understand the skills needed for successful volunteer management in your organisation; taking into account the volunteers' needs and those of the organisation. Areas covered will include Volunteers and the law; the need for policies; methods of reward and recognition.
