This is an advanced course suitable for staff or volunteers who work with parents; eg a family support or early intervention worker. This Course is for practitioners with knowledge and understanding around their roles who wish to develop their practice through reflection and research. The Course requires learners to have safeguarding knowledge and an understanding of child development as a pre-requisite for the Course. Learners will develop an appreciation of what reflective practice it and how this can help them to develop. This is supported by exploring how effective partnership with parents are developed and sustained.
I have worked with parents and children for over 20 years in a variety of roles. I am an experienced and dynamic leader who has worked both in the statutory and voluntary sector to manage projects from inception to delivery of challenging targets. I am an enthusiastic individual keen to motivate others and support them to develop to their full potential.
I have over 10 years of leadership and management experience. Alongside this I have had 20 years experience of training. I have developed my own programmes in response to identified training needs, and delivered accredited courses. Both in my paid work and voluntary roles, I work with community members, staff and partners and I have developed excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills to communicate at different levels. I source about 50% of my work directly with clients and for the other 50% am delighted to work with various training and consultancy companies, ensuring that my knowledge and professional development is always up to date.
