About the CPD course
Understanding the processes involved in recruiting people with convictions is complex. At NIACRO we believe that peoples previous convictions should not become an insurmountable barrier to future employment and associated settled lifestyles. In this training course we take employers through the key elements involved in the disclosure of criminal records to ensure recruitment processes are fair; legal and informed by best practice. Participants will increase knowledge and understanding of what is needed to fairly and appropriately manage recruitment processes involving the disclosure of criminal records.
NIACRO is Northern Ireland’s leading voluntary organisation working with the criminal justice system for 50 years to reduce crime and its impact on people and communities. We support over 5,500 people annually, including adults with convictions in prison and in the community, children and young people at risk of offending and families affected by imprisonment. We have considerable expertise in advice-giving concerning criminal records and disclosure, early intervention, rehabilitation and restorative practices. We support others working in the sector with training, advice and guidance. Our work has been recognised through the Howard League for Penal Reform, Criminal Justice Inspection Northern Ireland, IIP, IIC and IIV.
