If a child or young person has an emotional need; it can significantly impact their academic achievements and interactions with others. An anxious or dysregulated child or young person can also struggle to display desirable behaviours in the classroom. A whole-school; cross-curricular approach to mental health and well-being gives students (and staff) the knowledge; skills and understanding they need to maintain a healthy; creative and optimistic life. This 20-hour blended course is aimed at inclusion teams and mental health leads and provides access to online evidence-based content and at least two live tutoring sessions. An authentic ‘real-world’ task simulates best practices and provides opportunities for learning to be personalised and embedded in everyday practice. Participants taking this course are equipped with the knowledge; understanding and skills to identify and support students with mental health needs.
