About the CPD course
This online training session supports attendees to understand what the term Service child means and how to identify Service children. It introduces attendees to the barriers which Service children can face and also to the value and diversity they can bring to a school. The latter part of the session introduces attendees to the SCiP Alliances Thriving Lives Toolkit and how to apply this to a school to enhance support for Service children. The session is targeted at staff working in secondary schools: but is also open to staff who work more broadly across the education sector.

The Southern Universities Network (SUN) is a collaborative partnership, providing higher education outreach activities for schools and colleges across Hampshire, Dorset and the Isle of Wight. It is part of Uni Connect, an Office for Students-funded national programme, offering activities, advice, and information on the benefits and realities of going to university.
The SUN offers workshops, events and activities to support and inspire young people to consider their future educational pathways and options. The SUN also offers an accredited programme of CPD to upskill education professionals and to enhance their knowledge and confidence in providing support to young people.
