About the CPD course
Following vascular access device (VAD) insertion; it is important that the device is managed correctly. Healthcare practitioners caring for patients with VADs should consistently adhere to practices that help to reduce catheter-related bloodstream infections and other device related complications. These practitioners must therefore have undergone appropriate; evidence based; structured training and education and be deemed competent prior to working with VADs. This evidence-based; comprehensive module is aimed at any healthcare professional who is responsible for the care and maintenance of midlines and peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC). It encompasses the key elements of best practice to maintain and improve clinical outcomes; It integrates Vessel Health & Vein Preservation; Infection Control; and ANTT. The course is designed to facilitate continuous professional development and learning; along with supporting reflective and evidence-based practice.
