Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?
Mace Housing was set up in 1974 as a self help Housing Association to house creative individuals and homeless people. Mace is in partnership with various Local Authorities and Housing Associations in addressing the housing needs of people to provide shared accommodation for homeless people who are not on the 'priority homeless list.
Why did you become a CPD provider?
We offer training for our members (i.e. tenants) who are on low income and desire to upgrade themselves or change their career. We also extend this training to people who are not our members but want to be trained to become Housing Officers.
How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?
We define the purpose and goals of the trainings, highlighting the desired outcomes and the benefits for our participants. We will then go ahead and design the activities for the training, monitor attendance and progress during the training and issue out certificates at the end of the training to each participants.
How has CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?
We just concluded a training for our Management Committee members and hitherto, we would have just given attendance certificates but now we are going to give them CPD certificates which will ginger them to attend more trainings with us.
