This seminar aims to support home care workers providing personal care to people approaching the last days/weeks of life. We will cover how to recognise when someone is approaching the last days/weeks of life; how to provide personal care at this time; supporting the family and what to do when the person dies.
City Hospice is at the heart of Cardiff, providing medical and nursing care for patients facing a life limiting illness, which includes end of life care, and support to their families. Our City Hospice team cares for patients across the city, managing their symptoms and offering essential support. This means each person in our care can live their lives to the fullest for as long as possible. We help patients with diagnoses such as Cancer, Dementia, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or other life-limiting illnesses. As we deliver community palliative care for the whole of Cardiff, all of our patients live within the capital, and range in age from 18 upwards.
