1-day seminar for all healthcare professionals looking to develop their communication skills when supporting palliative patients in any clinical setting. The seminar will look to explore the challenges to effective and sensitive communication and the different frameworks and toolkits available to support healthcare professionals. This session will be particularly useful for when a healthcare professional is breaking bad news and exploring sensitive topics with patients and family members.
City Hospice is at the heart of Cardiff, providing medical and nursing care for patients facing a life limiting illness, which includes end of life care, and support to their families. Our City Hospice team cares for patients across the city, managing their symptoms and offering essential support. This means each person in our care can live their lives to the fullest for as long as possible. We help patients with diagnoses such as Cancer, Dementia, Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) or other life-limiting illnesses. As we deliver community palliative care for the whole of Cardiff, all of our patients live within the capital, and range in age from 18 upwards.
