About the CPD course
This course is aimed at Neonatal staff; Paediatricians and anyone involved in sharing news that the baby has Down’s Syndrome. They will hear good practice examples and improve their understanding around caring for babies born with Down’s syndrome and supporting them & their parents through the neonatal period. They will get to hear lived experiences from a parent carer. It will improve their awareness of the information; services and support Down’s Syndrome Scotland offer to families.
Down’s Syndrome Scotland, a member-led charity established in 1982 are the only charity in Scotland dedicated to providing ‘all through life’ support and a range of services to people with Down’s syndrome and their families and carers nationally across Scotland. We provide training for educational settings to positively include and effectively support the education of children and young people with Down’s syndrome. We provide teaching sessions to midwifery and health professionals with supporting new and expectant parents through prenatal screening and testing, receiving the news and the early years of having a child with Down’s syndrome.
