This is an advanced course; suitable for anyone who is a Designated Safeguarding Lead or who wants to find out more about this role working either with children or adults are risk. This course assumes basic safeguarding knowledge. By the end of the course learners will have developed an understanding of the role of the Designated Safeguarding Lead and how this is underpinned by legislation and guidance. They will have explored the responsibilities of this role.
I have worked with parents and children for over 20 years in a variety of roles. I am an experienced and dynamic leader who has worked both in the statutory and voluntary sector to manage projects from inception to delivery of challenging targets. I am an enthusiastic individual keen to motivate others and support them to develop to their full potential.
I have over 10 years of leadership and management experience. Alongside this I have had 20 years experience of training. I have developed my own programmes in response to identified training needs, and delivered accredited courses. Both in my paid work and voluntary roles, I work with community members, staff and partners and I have developed excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills to communicate at different levels. I source about 50% of my work directly with clients and for the other 50% am delighted to work with various training and consultancy companies, ensuring that my knowledge and professional development is always up to date.
