We have been asking our members from across the industries the reasons why they became a CPD provider. This CPD Member case study was provided by Business in Heels International. For more information, please visit their CPD Member Directory page.
Please provide us with a brief overview of your organisation. What do you do?
At Business in Heels, we are enabling business & professional success through & for women. We fast-track them on their road to success through our key services of education, mentoring, connection and marketing. Today the collaborative community is over 200,000. Our vision is to create an unlimited future for women.
Why did you become a CPD provider?
CPD gave our education structure and helped us to develop the rigour to ensure our education had the impact and outcomes we were looking for.
How did you implement CPD accreditation in your organisation?
The CPD accreditation criteria transformed our behaviour, it forced us to look more closely at our education and ask some critical questions. For example, How do we know that the student has learnt this, do we need a test? How do we know if the student can apply this learning, what mechanism will we need to check? What sort of base skill should the student arrive with and what can be taught?
How has CPD helped your organisation achieve its learning objectives?
The structure has enabled us to come up with robust Mentor training that is much needed in the corporate world. We know mentoring is pivotal in achieving inclusion and helping empower mentees. Our programs provide mentors with a framework they can lean on, the tools to ask great questions and avoid leaping to solutions and the ability to recognise potential mental health risks.
